Project Engineer

The role is flexible and is open to applicants of degree or diploma qualified Engineer level, with:

  • A degree or diploma in an Engineering related subject
  • Practical Mechanical Engineering experience (at least 2 years' experience required)
  • A genuine interest in Engineering
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

A full driving licence, own vehicle and current passport are essential. The successful applicant will need to quickly gain an understanding of PSD’s equipment and the industries in which PSD works. The role will involve design and specification work and the use of a 3D CAD system for the modelling and production of detailed designs for new equipment, project-specific pipework & layouts, equipment upgrades and electrical controls. The work will include the gathering of information and keeping of records relating to new and existing plant, the writing of operation & maintenance manuals and contributing to safety documentation.

The role involves significant verbal and written communication, interaction with clients, suppliers and staff including electricians, fitters, fabricators, plant operators, managers and directors.

In addition to the primary responsibilities above, the individual will be expected to assist in a variety of tasks associated with the day to day operations of the company. The role will involve occasional visits to sites, to our suppliers and to our plant yard. The role is suited to someone who enjoys getting their hands dirty and as their understanding increases, the successful applicant will be expected to work unsupervised, but with the ability to refer to colleagues for guidance.

Salary is negotiable depending on qualifications and experience but is expected to be in the range of £25-34k. Hours of work are Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm.
