The increasing use of small HDD rigs and microtunnelling machines means that there is a growing market for smaller mud cleaning machines and PSD identified that there was a need was for a small footprint, easily transported mud cleaner that would clean mud properly, so they designed the MC80. Soon after completing the first MC80, directional drilling contractor Verbraeken Construction nv rented the unit and kept it for over a year! Jan Matthe from Verbraeken was so impressed with the performance of the unit and the cleanliness of the treated mud that he used it on crossing after crossing and even tankered mud from other sites for processing by the MC80.
The 2760x1880x2431mm high MC80 uses a three speed, inverter controlled VSM300 linear motion high performance shaker, Svedala centrifugal pump and narrow taper hydrocyclones to achieve improved performance of up to 180% compared with similar sized equipment from other makers. It can process up to 80m3/hr of low viscosity mud, separate up to 20 tonnes per hour of suitable solids and reduce the sand content of the mud to ZERO. Click here
