Job description
A
Welder Fabricator, preferably with 10 years’ experience of general welding
& fabrication, is required for the manufacture & maintenance of
specialist heavy duty rental equipment for the civil engineering industry.
Applicants
must be able to read fabrication drawings, but also have the ability to
improvise, particularly where repairs are required. NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication
& Welding or equivalent would be an advantage.
Duties
will include the manufacture, preparation, repair and maintenance of equipment
in our modern workshop & plant yard in Preston. Materials are generally
mild steel and includes hollow section, plate, pipework & flanges.
Experience of MIG, MMA and TIG (desirable but not essential). The applicant
must be competent with all general fabrication power tools and cutting
equipment.
The
position will suit a willing, resourceful and hardworking individual, who is
prepared to work alone and as part of a professional and dedicated team. Some
manual handling will be required, as is the use of an overhead travelling
workshop crane & guillotine, but training can be provided.
This
is a permanent position, after an initial probationary period.
